The FUMC, Sheridan Resumption of Indoor/In-Person Ministry Task Force is pleased to recommend the resumption of indoor/in-person worship on Sunday mornings at FUMC, Sheridan. After much thoughtful and prayerful consideration, the Task Force is working toward Sunday, October 11 at 10am for indoor/in-person worship in the sanctuary.
Worship will continue to be streamed via FaceBook Live and posted on the church website. Strenuous safety measures will be necessary for our congregation to be able to conduct indoor/in-person worship. More information on our new procedures as well as what congregants may expect will be forthcoming. Covid-19 has disrupted every phase of life, including the life and ministry of FUMC, Sheridan and every church around the world. While our church has never closed, we have all dearly missed the holy space of our sanctuary and the shared nature of communal worship in that familiar place. Mr. Wesley's injunction to "do no harm" has been and continues to be a primary guiding factor for FUMC, Sheridan's leadership during this pandemic. We believe that we can safely resume indoor/in-person worship for persons who do not have high risk factors. We also deeply value persons in our congregation and across the country who worship with us online due to distance, safety concerns, health factors, or other needs. Therefore, streaming worship will continue to be a priority for our church during the pandemic and beyond. Look for more information in the coming weeks! Grace and Peace, Pastor Todd-Paul |
